Cookie Policy
Last updated: October 5, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies (such as your browser's local storage) the Meezy website uses, why, and how you can control them. It is part of our Privacy Policy. The Meezy iOS app does not use cookies and does not contain third-party advertising or analytics software; how the app handles information is described in the Privacy Policy.
1. Strictly necessary (always on)
These make Meezy work and are not used for tracking, so they do not need your consent.
- Sign-in session (sb-…-auth-token). Set by our authentication provider, Supabase, to keep you signed in. Lasts until you sign out, or up to about 400 days.
- Friend invite (solo_invite). If you open a friend's invite link, this remembers the invite for up to 30 days so we can connect you with your friend when you sign up.
- Your cookie choice (solo_consent). Remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, for about 6 months, so we don't keep asking.
- Bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile). The sign-in, sign-up, waitlist, and contact forms may use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from bots. It may read or store a small amount of data in your browser for that purpose.
- Recipe draft (local storage: solo:create-recipe-draft). While you create a recipe, an autosaved draft stays in your browser on this device only, until you save or discard it.
2. Analytics (only if you accept)
If you click Accept analytics, we load PostHog, our product analytics provider. It sets a cookie and local-storage entries whose names start with "ph_" for up to one year, and records how the website is used (pages viewed, clicks, and, where we have turned it on, session recordings that show clicks, scrolling, and navigation with sensitive input fields masked). We use this only to find and fix problems and improve Meezy.
If you click Reject non-essential (or do nothing), PostHog is not loaded at all: your browser makes no request to it and nothing is stored for analytics.
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell or share your information for advertising.
3. Your choices
- Use the cookie banner when it appears, or click Cookie settings in the footer of any page at any time to change your choice. Withdrawing consent removes the analytics cookies and stops further analytics.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the strictly necessary cookies will stop sign-in from working.
4. Product events when you are signed in
Separately from cookies, when you are signed in our servers record basic product events tied to your account (for example, that you scanned a receipt or saved a recipe). These do not use cookies and are not controlled by the cookie banner; they are described in our Privacy Policy, together with your rights to access and delete your data.
5. Changes and contact
We may update this Cookie Policy, and will change the "Last updated" date when we do. If we add a new analytics tool we will ask for your choice again. Questions: support@solokitchen.org.
